SUBJECT:     Reasons for Working Overtime

Due to the recent unfortunate incident involving Senior Bookkeeper Melanie Persnick, it has become necessary to issue this reminder concerning overtime work. The Corporation recognizes that employees covered by overtime laws may sometimes need to work late, and bill the Corporation for required overtime hours. However effective immediately, the following reasons for staying late and billing overtime hours will not be accepted:

• "My foot is caught in my desk drawer, and I'm waiting for the swelling to go down."



• "Sorry, but I'm right smack in the middle of a live chat with Anna Nicole Smith."



• "The Cub game is in the bottom of the eleventh, the bases are loaded, and I can't leave my computer until Sosa's at bat is done."

In the near future, I will write to you again in our continuing quest to improve the management of the Corporation's human resources.
