Rev. John A. Mills
The Rev. John A. Mills is an ordained minister and endorsed chaplain in the
United Church of Christ
and an Associate Chaplain in the
Association of Professional Chaplains.
Rev. Mills is currently a chaplain at Homeside Hospice in Clark, NJ.
Previously he was interim minister at the Federated Church of Livingston (ABC, UCC)
and past pastor of
First Congregational Church (UCC)
in
Closter, N.J.
He also has been a
OSS/BSS solutions architect
who has architected various systems supporting the emergence of the Internet and telecommunications.
He is a past co-convenor of the United Church of Christ's steering committee on religion and science.
Rev. Mills graduated from Drew University Theological School with a Masters of Divinity degree, Summa Cum Laude,
and from Rutgers University with a Masters of Science degree.
He has three decades experience in the telecommunications industry,
publishing various technical articles in the field of software engineering,
and developing various operations architectures for telecommunications networks.
Rev. Mills offers
Wisdom's Light,
a program bringing the dialog between science and religion to the public.
As such he has taught a variety of
classes
in this dialog to the general public on topics that include
the creationism and evolution conflict,
the impact of quantum physics and cosmology on faith,
the stem cell research controversy, and the promise of the Internet.
He also has a written a number
of commentaries on religious issues in local newspapers.
He is interested in mysticism and expresses this interest in both lyrical
and epic poetry, which can be found at
