I-Xmas
Twas
the last log off before I-Xmas when all over the desk top,

No
emails awaiting not even an IM would pop.

The
stocking were all hung on the children’s homepage,

In
hopes that I-clause would visit and engage.

*********************
They
had all logged off and headed to bed,

They
had visions of the emails to friends in their head.

The
Mrs in her

We had
just finished camming with friends we just met.

*********************
When
up popped an email alert, oh so loud, of an email awaiting us here,

I
rushed to the computer to see who was there.
To
the MS windows I clicked on the screen saver to better,
![]()
Open
up the e-mail program and open up the letter.
*********************
The
moon shining through the window bright and clear,
Gave
my monitor an image of the night so dear.

When,
what to my delight my eyes did see,
But
an email from I-Santa and his troop of elves, there be.

*********************
With
pictures and attachments so lovely and large,
![]()
I
knew any moment the download would forge.
![]()
More
rapid than phone line the dsl uploaded,
![]()
With
clicks and ticks the email finally loaded.

*********************
On
email and yahoo and AOL messenger and ICQ!
![]()
On
programs I didn’t know I had, it gave me a clue,
To
the top of the list, to the top of the email,

It
all came together in one large swell.
*********************
Packages
delivered by UPS and snail mail,

Everything
you ordered, no one could you tell.

A
tree you did not need or have,

Only
the email order you will have to save.
*********************
As
crashed before me the screen popped and went black,

Only
the tiny light of the curser for a moment was slack.
Up
to the top of the monitor the curser went,
With
a flash of speed it looked almost spent.
*********************
And
then with a twinkle the light went away,
The
flashing went idle and the monitor began to sway.
I
looked at the blackness when all of a sudden,

Up
popped a picture of I-Santa with his nose so redden.

*********************
His
picture came in jpeg, bmp and more,
And
his image was enhanced from photo editor version four.

Attachments
of certificates from Amazon he had,
![]()
An
abundance of gifts from Ebay for Dad.
![]()
*********************
His
eyes on the monitor, his email was so forward,
His
charm was like roses sent from e-card
His
words of happiness and joy, he did shine,
And
his virtual image you could see online.
*********************
He
had music from Napster, toys from e-store,
![]()
![]()
Picture
of places I’ve never seen before.
He
offered web sites for the taking,

To
build a virtual neighborhood of reality faking.
![]()
*********************
He
gave away internet access on cable’s broadband,

Your
modem no longer needed, in the corner it would stand.

Constant
access to the Internet it would always be,
![]()
No
more dial-up droppings, always online, you see.

*********************
He
spoke not a word, for my speakers were not fine.
Only
typing messages and chatting online.

As
he finished his last message he rose,
![]()
Off
of my monitor he disappeared when he chose.

*********************
He
went away to his next encounter,
To
the next computer, the next web page’s counter.
![]()
But
he typed one last message to everyone true,
Merry
I-Xmas to all and to all Yahoo!!!
