You can read the story of the children of Israel crossing the Jordan River in Joshua 3. An interesting part of the story is that the water didn't part until the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water of the Jordan. It required a lot of faith to complete all the preparations and then, march forward trusting that God would do what He had promised.
A fitting introduction to a call to a work group, wouldn't you say? We have prepared and led 15 work
groups throughout the years and not one of them “drowned” because of the unfaithfulness of God! So
with that in mind, let us challenge you to a work group to England in July of 2006.
There is a Christian group called Radio World Wide who are based in Bradford, England. They teach
people in countries all over the world how to prepare Christian radio programs. The group is led by
friends of ours, Chris and Bela Singh. Our plan is to go there the later part of July for about 10 days and help them with some painting, some yard work, and some light maintenance of their facilities.
The trip will cost around $1200-1500 depending on what the price of aviation fuel does. We'll
probably stay in the Radio World Wide facilities and cook our own meals. We'll work hard physically
and also do some deep spiritual work, and we will enjoy English hospitality and countryside.
So, what do you think? Are you willing to put your foot in? Ask the Lord about it and if He says yes, don't miss an opportunity to be in one of the last Stanley led work groups before our “tents” fall down:-)
Let us know by e-mail (jnrstanley@alum.MIT.edu) or phone 706-398-0607 or tell Brother Earl in the
Missions Group if you're interested. (This work group idea is Mission Group and Deacon approved.)
We hope to be able to be in Michigan in early December to have a first meeting with those who want to go. Keep those feet ready!
