Block from a front mount distributor '48 8N. Some heavy handed "mechanic" removed the .040" sleeves during a previous overhaul with a hammer and screwdriver and put several scratches and gouges in the bores of the block. Purely cosmetic, no cracks. Block is good otherwise.

Block from a side mount distributor '50 8N (8N-B). The misguided individual who owned this one removed the .040" sleeves and installed oversize pistons that ran in the block without sleeves. Now, it will need to be bored out to use the standard .090" sleeves. Good shape otherwise.
