A Porter monument in Union Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Elizabeth died April 11, 1845 in the 95th year of her age


One side has the following names:

Elizabeth Porter wife of Samuel, the Jane wife of Rev. James Porter born 5/1/1786 died 11/25/1873 then Jesse L. Porter son of James and Jane Porter born 7/30/1827 died 5/15/1868, then Lucy A. wife of Jesse L. Porter born 4/20/1833 and died 1893.

Another side of the marker has the:

William Ewing Hall born 12/21/1846 died 7/6/1900 or 06 then Emily Porter Hall born 7/27/1853 died 11/6/1927. Porter T. Hall 1879 - 1943 then Josephine Bird Hall 1888- 1943 wife of Porter T. Hall Jessie Hall Redfield 1873-1962

The third side has the following:

James B. Porter born 9/25/1856 died 8/30/1903 Tellie Porter Sullivan 1869 - 1948 Jesse L. Porter 1884 - 1952, James B. Porter Jr. 1885 - 1953 and Etta Lee Porter 1891-1979

And the names on the forth side are:

J. Lee Porter 1861 - 1942, Ada S. Porter born 6/6/1855 died 5/13/1927 Ada Lee Porter Kinard 1892- 1975 and Kerwin Porter Kinard 1918 - 1994

As you can see, this monument is huge, at about 30 feet tall and located on the top of a hill in the Southeastern part of Union Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.  A great tribute to the Porter and Hall families of early Kansas City.
