George Miller dies age 87
    George W. Miller son of Martha & Harrison Miller was born Aug. 7, 1861 in Mercer Co., Mo. He spent his youth on a farm. He was married to Martha Loe Jan. 23, 1883 in Modena, Mo. She was the daughter of Rev. Wm. Anderson Loe an early day preacher of Mercer Co. They moved to Princeton in 1884 and are parents of 4 daughters: Grace, Allie, Bess & Florence.
    He became deputy Circuit clerk recorder under his brother Henry C. Miller worked there 7 years. He became cashier of the Ballew Bank & later with some others, launched the Farmers State Bank in which he was active 16 years. He was also City Clerk of city of Princeton for about 6 years.
    He was very active in the M.E. Church, S.S. & choir. He was retired at the time of his death in 1949.

G. W. Miller dies
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church by the Rev. Bryan M. Crosby, assisted by the Rev. _ E. Nichols and the Rev. C. ___ahrt. Burial was in the Princeton cemetery Mr. Miller was born Aug. 7, 1861, in Mercer county, north of Spickard. He was a son of Harrison and Martha Spickard Miller. He was married Jan 21, 1883, to Martha A. Loe, who died July 25, 1946.
    Two years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved to Princeton. Mr. Miller became deputy circuit clerk and recorder of deeds under his brother, the late Henry C. Miller, who died four years ago, and who for many years was deputy United States Marshal in Kansas City. For many years Mr. Miller was a bank cashier here, and later served several years as city clerk.
He had been a member of the Methodist church here for 65 years, serving as Sunday school superintendent and a member of the board and the choir for many years. He was the last surviving member of the board which built the present church building.
    Mr. Miller leaves four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Coon and Mrs. Florence Martin, both of Princeton, Mrs. Charles Long, of Kansas City and Mrs. Paul Everly of Chicago, a brother, Charles __ Miller of New York City; 8 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Service Held Thursday For Mrs. G. W. Miller
    Mrs. Martha Ann Miller, 80 years old, wife of G.W. Miller, died Thursday evening of last week at her home here after a long illness. A daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. W.A. Loe, she was born March 17, 1866, near Modena. Her father was a pioneer Methodist minister and Civil War veteran. On Jan. 21, 1883, she was married to G.W. Miller.
     For 62 years she was an active member of the Methodist church, and during most of the time taught a Sunday school class. She was a teacher of considerable ability. About a year ago ill health forced her to give up active participation in church work.
     Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters. Mrs. Charles H. Long, Kansas City; Mrs. Paul Everly, Trenton; Mrs. Perry P. Coon and Mrs Neal D. Martin, both of Princeton; a sister, Mrs Eliza Everett, of Anaheim, Calif; two brothers, J.W. Loe of Mill Grove and Dr. Fred Loe, of Ft. Defiance, Ariz. Also surviving are nine grand-children.
     Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church being conducted by the Rev. H.E. Corbin. Burial was in the Princeton cemetery. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Howard Woods, Charles Shaffner and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mills with Mrs. Shaffner and Mrs. Marguerite Umstead at the piano and organ.
    Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Poe Waltner, Spickard; Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Loe, Mr. and Mrs. George St. Peter, all of Mill Grove; Mrs. Martha Downey of Cainsville; Mrs. Clyde McCollum, Mrs. Elmer Johnson, John Cross, Mrs. Clyde Baltz, Mrs. Guy Ratliff, Mrs. A.E. Beckman, Mrs. Ray Baily, Mrs. Ray Thomas, Mrs. Olin Stone, Mrs. Frank McGuire, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Everly and grandchildren, Paul and Bobby, all of Trenton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Coon of Bethany; Mr. and Mrs James Dent, Salem, Mo.
