Here is the hard part. You must equip yourself. We'll tell you what you need to buy, and where to buy it, but you must provide the funding!! The cost of equipping yourself with the basic infantryman's kit is about $1200.00 We also have yearly unit dues (to pay for insurance) $15 per associate (non voting) member, $25 per single member, and $35 per family However, before you invest your kid's college fund, you can try an event on us! We have a loaner kit you can use free of charge for your first event (and can rent for a small fee thereafter). Then, if you're still interested, off to the sutlers you go! |
| Events | We attend events, large and small, just about anywhere east of the Mississippi. Some are battle reenactments, some are educational living histories, and some are parades. It works about to be one event every third weekend from March through November. You don't have to make them all, but we'd like to see you at as many as possible! |
Hello?? Still there? Seriously, if you are at all interested in the Civil War and life of those who fought it, there is no better way to learn than to live it (at least in some small measure). We are very family oriented, welcoming wives and children of our troops (though not in ranks). Our civilians are a friendly and very active bunch, whether putting on displays for the benefit of the public, or, more often, making fun of the guys!
