The 2007 Pick 4 Club

Our Club Rules

Rule 1:
  • Dr. Fred is the Pick 4 Club (P4C) Manager. The P4C Manager is the Supreme Being. Any thought to the contrary will result in immediate expulsion from the pool.
Rule 2:
  • The P4C Manager is ALWAYS right.
Rule 3:
  • The P4C Manager does not get paid a salary, but can accept small gifts. Small gifts should be parked in his driveway, with the keys and title left on his desk.
Rule 4: (2007 - Point Spread Source Changed)
  • The Club uses the live current line from Sports.com, as available on-line at noon  (ET)on Fridays, and linked on the Club Home Page.
Rule 5:
  • Most seasons the P4C only uses Sunday's games. No Saturdays. No Thursdays. No Mondays.
Rule 6: (The Too Many Smart People Rule Amendment - revised 2006)
  • You must select 4 teams only against the numbers from the Sunday slates.
  • For weeks 1 through 16, if there are more than 10 winners in the weekly contest, the Board of Directors may declare a "carryover" for those members who were 4-0.  In such case, the points for that week will be awarded to the "carryover" member(s) who are 4-0 in the following week, or subsequent weeks if necessary.

  • Week 17, the last week of the season, has certain tiebreakers. See Rule 9 below.
Rule 7:
  • Ties against the number count as a loss in the weekly contests. For the seasonal pool, they count as ties.
Rule 8:
  • Every effort is made to ensure accuracy. If you find any mistakes, contact the Manager ASAP.
Rule 9 (Final Week): Total Points Sunday Night Game
  • Only applies if 1) no member is 4-0 Sunday, or 2) 12 or more members are 4-0, or if no member is 4-0, will apply to members with 3 wins. (And so on.) You must estimate the total points scored in the Sunday night game.  Closest to the total points wins.  (You don't bust if over.)

  • In case 1) above where is no outright 4-0 winner, members with 3 wins will be determined as the winner(s), unless case 2) above also is relevant, i.e. 12 or more members with 3 wins, at which time, the total points Sunday night game tiebreaker will be used.
