Along the western wall.

After a really slack August on the biking front, I decided that I would get back on track in September. Labor Day weekend gave us some great weather, and on Monday I got away to Myersville to do some riding.

The bank temperature sign said 84 degrees Farenheit as I got to town. Thats pretty good riding weather for this area in early September.

I had planned to do a couterclockwise loop to Wolfsville, but ended up going clockwise instead. Heading up Canada Hill Road, I saw a road closed sign for construction ahead. I've made it a habit to always go as far as I can into the zone to verify that it is really impassable to bikes. Sometimes it is, like a bridge being out, but this was just repaving, so around it I went.

In the middle of the road construction, there was a spur of new residential roads that I have to get the names of, because they are too new to be in my 3 year old road names database.

Canada Hill road went up, up, up. There are some great views from up there. Then back down and a quick out and back along Grindstone Run.

The the up got serious, taking me the the ridge of South Mountain, where the Appalachian Trail crosses Rt 70 on a foot bridge.

After a break for a granola bar, I dropped down the hill and turned north on Pleasant Walk Rd. A bit of climbing, but mosty following the contour lines through to Loy Wolfe Rd. This also follows the same elevation, but then I turned onto Dog Rd, which drops down to Pleasant walk and then gives a healthy climb over a hill and down to Wolfsville.

Looping around got me back onto Loy Wolfe and Pleasant Walk, and instead of going back into Wolfsville, I opted to take Easterday Rd. back to the south. That is a really scenic road. Nice!.

A quick and very stout climb up Scravel Rd. ended the difficult climbing for the day, and I took Easterday back to Myersville, and explored some neighborhoods. I was back in town just as my waster heal out and I came across some kids with a lemonade stand. Perfect! I bought two cups. and that held me well until I got back to the parking lot.
