Photos of My Pregnancy Henna Art
I use all-natural henna paste made from Moroccan henna leaves,
organic lemon juice, cane sugar, and pure essential oils.
No artificial ingredients or dyes are added.
If you think you might have a skin sensitivity,
it might be best to do a small skin test before applying large amounts
of henna. I have never had anyone have a bad reaction,
nor have I heard of it, but it is possible.
Please let me know if you have any allergy concerns.

This is a henna stain the day
after the paste was applied.
The paste has been removed
leaving a reddish brown stain.
This design incorporates a
central design and elaborate
surrounding designs.
This design size will take
about 2 hours to apply and
will cost around $80.

This design shows the henna paste still on the skin after it has dried to a dark brown.
The paste will be removed later, but the longer you leave it on,
the darker the stain on the skin will be and the longer the design will last.
Applying dry heat and/or a lemon sugar solution over the henna paste
will help to darken the stain, and you might also benefit from covering the design if you
cannot leave your belly exposed for a few hours to keep the paste from brushing off.
This design size surrounding the navel will take
about an hour to apply and will cost around $40.
Here is the same design as above the next day after the paste has been removed.
A hare, a fertility symbol, has been added
at the top of the design and the hands have been decorated in addition to the belly.
Adding this amount of henna on the hands would take up to
another hour and would add $20 to the cost.
Feet can also be decorated to match the hands for an additional $20.
More intricate designs on the hands or feet would cost $40 per pair.

These photos show the application process of a
medium-sized belly design that would take about an hour and cost around $40.
Matching hands in the photos below, $20.

Designing
I can provide you with some design ideas and samples,
or you are welcome to search for your own.
If you choose to draw your own design, keep in mind that
very fine lines and tight detail work are not terribly practical.
It might be better for you to work on your design with a marker
rather than a pencil so you can have a better feel
for what will work with the thick henna paste.
