Salmonsoft was
formed by three people, Andy Wand, Doug Hatch, and Jeff Fryer to develop
software to improve the process of counting fish at dams, weirs, and
fishwheels. Hank Meuret was added to work on software development. We are
based in Portland, Oregon, though
our software is used in Michigan, Alaska, Oregon, Washington State, and Switzerland.
Jeff Fryer-Fisheries
Biologist working with Columbia Basin salmonids for the past 15 years.
Earned a Ph.D. in Fisheries from the University of Washington. From
the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, he earned a
MSc
(Computer Science) degree and a BSc(Computer Science) degree with
the equivalent of an honors in Statistics and minor in Economics.
Doug
Hatch-Fisheries Biologist working with Columbia Basin salmonids for the
past 15 years. Earned MSc(Fisheries) and BSc(Fisheries) degrees from the University of
Idaho.
Andy Wand-Currently employed in the software development
industry but worked as a fisheries biologist in the Columbia Basin for 3
years. Earned a Masters of Engineering degree from Cornell University. For
his thesis, he developed a computer program to count fish recorded on
video tape.
Hank Meuret -Presently a software development specialist
for Meuret Consulting.
