This web site is dedicated to the original members of the 25th North Carolina Infantry Regiment that gave all in the fight for what they believed in, may we honor those who died in Valor, not in Vain.

The 25th Infantry Regiment was organized on August 15, 1861 at Camp Patton in Asheville, NC.  Composed of men from the following counties:  Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon and Transylvania:  It was one of the only regiments to be formed entirely of Western North Carolina men.  the 25th spent most of the war alternating between Eastern North Carolina and Virginia, it fought in the most of the battles in Virginia and Maryland.
