Obi-wan has to cut himself out of the cockpit with his saber and jump to safety as his ship crashes deeper inside the command ship. He flips over a bank of repeating laser cannons that are firing and ejecting shells repeatedly. The droids manning these cannons are quickly dispatched by the Jedi Master. As Anakin's starfighter clears the hangar the emergency blast doors close. Anakin crashes his ship into a mass of battledroids that are trying to surround Kenobi. R2 extricates himself as Kenobi runs to Anakin. Flipping over the incoming blaster fire Anakin ignites his blue-bladed saber and takes his toll in droids. Kenobi- "R2, locate the Chancellor." Anakin- "Tap into the ships computers." R2 plugs into a port on the wall. Battledroids and super-battledroids pour out of the corridors. The lasers begin to fly. As the Jedi finish cutting down the droids a hologram of the Invisible Hand appears before R2. Kenobi- "The Chancellor's signal is coming from right there. The observation platform at the top of that spire." Anakin- "I sense Count Dooku ..." Kenobi- "I sense a trap." Anakin- "Next move?" Kenobi- "Spring the trap." R2 tries to follow them. The two Jedi stop. Anakin- "R2, go back. I need you to stay with the ship." Kenobi- "Here, take this and wait for orders." Kenobi hands a commlink to R2 and the Jedi leave. The doors open on the bridge of the Invisible Hand and General Grievous enters followed by his two IG-1OO MagnaGuard bodyguard droids. Grievous- "What's the situation, Captain?" Captain- "Two Jedi have landed in the main hangar bay." Grievous- "Just as Count Dooku predicted." The two Jedi make their way to an elevator lobby. As the Jedi wait for the elevator to arrive a metallic rolling noise is heard. Anakin- "Destroyers!" As the Jedi block the laser blasts of the three menacing Destroyer Droids the elevator doors finally open. The hard pressed Jedi back in, still deflecting lasers until the doors close. They turn around to find a group of Battledroids in the elevator behind them with their weapons raised. Battledroid- "Drop your weapons. I said drop 'em." The Jedi destroy them. Back in the hangar, R2 notices two Super Battledroids coming close to his hiding spot. On their way up the elevator stops. Kenobi- "Did you press the stop button?" Anakin- "No. Did you?" Kenobi- "No!" Anakin- "Well, there's only one way out of here." Anakin cuts a hole in the ceiling of the elevator with his lightsaber and jumps onto the top of it. Obi-Wan contacts R2 on his commlink and tells him to make the elevator move. R2 is trying to hide from the Super Battledroids and the noise is alerting them to his presence. Suddenly the elevator begins a rapid descent. Anakin grabs ahold of the bottom of a closed elevator door on the side of the shaft as the elevator plummets hundreds of feet in a second. Obi-Wan yells to R2 to stop the elevator. As Anakin struggles on the lip, the door opens and two Battledroids stare down at him. R2 stops the elevator in the nick of time. As he starts it back up the Super Battledroids find him and begin bullying him. Anakin looks down and sees the elevator rising beneath him. As the Battledroids are about to blast him he jumps upwards and falls back into the elevator as it shoots up and decapitates the droids. In the hangar R2 shoots oil all over the Super Battledroids and they slip and fall in it. Anakin- "What was that all about?" Kenobi- "Well R2 has been ..." Anakin- "No loose wire jokes ... He's doing the best he can." Kenobi- "Did I say anything?" Anakin- "He's trying!" Kenobi- "I didn't say anything!" In the hangar, R2 fires his booster rockets igniting the oil and the Super Battledroids burst into flames. The elevator rises back to the top floor and the doors open near the General's Quarters. Just then, due to a communications error, "The Invisible Hand" is caught in massive crossfire from it's own ships. The explosions rip the ship in half. The group of Separatist leaders on the main bridge begin to panic. The operational portion of the command ship slowly rotates as it careens down to the planet surface. Neimodian Pilot- “Sir, we must escape, our ship is destroyed!” Obi-Wan and Anakin enter the door to the General's Quarters. Outside the large viewing window the planet of Coruscant spins dizzily closer. The Chancellor is there cuffed to a chair. Just as the two Jedi reach Palpatine, a concerned look comes over him. Kenobi- "Chancellor." Anakin- "Are you all right?" Palpatine- “Count Dooku.” Anakin and Obi-Wan turn to see Count Dooku step through the entry doors with a Superbattle Droid at each side. He casually walks forward to the railing and in a sudden and surprising acrobatic feat he springs forward, flipping and twisting over the railing, and sticks a solid landing on the floor below. Rising from his crouched position he unclips his curved lightsaber from his belt, but does not ignite it. The two droids stand guard at the doorway above. Obi-Wan- "This time we will do it together." Anakin- "I was just about to say the same thing." The two Jedi are not about to underestimate the Count again. They immediately begin shedding their robes in preparation for battle. They walk forward to meet Dooku in the middle of the room. Palpatine- "Get help! You're no match for him! He's a Sith Lord!" Kenobi- "Chancellor Palpatine, Sith Lords are our specialty." The two Jedi they come to a stop, standing face to face with Dooku once again. Count Dooku- "Your swords please, gentlemen. We don't want to make a mess of things in front of the Chancellor." Obi-Wan ignites his lightsaber. Anakin does the same. Dooku holds his saber out at his side and switches it on as well. Obi-Wan- "You won't get away this time, Dooku." |
