ROTS Collecting
If you want them for yourself and want to open them (like I do) that's great. Get what you want and do what you want. If you want to sell them or keep a couple special ones as Collectibles that's fine too. But listen up! Because chances are the figs you really want are the first, main characters and they'll be very rare and hard to find. I'm gonna' explain why and which ones to buy first, as soon as you see them. Here is a list of good things to try to get the figs you want. #1. Get there early! Whenever they let people in the store, be there. This is especially true at the first release. If it's a 24-hour store ask someone that works there if they know when the STAR WARS setup will begin. This is what I do and is the best way to score figs. Be there when they open the cases! #2. Know your assortments! Below is a list and explanation of case assortments. Know ahead of time which figure you want to get and if it's really rare or not. If it is, get that figure!! #3. Go to different stores! Different areas may not sell as many figs as yours do. They may have left over figs that you need. Or different assortments that you don't get. After the initial blitzkrieg try every store in your immediate area. Then go to stores farther away, in areas that you know. The more rural the better. Meaning, they have stores but the people are spread out more. I live just north of Orlando and go to different cities close, to farther away. When I was working as a courier I went to Daytona Beach stores and found different assortments than near my place. SNEAK PREVIEW FIGURES 2005 - PIC ABOVE! 1 of 4: General Grievous w/blaster, cape and blue saber 2 of 4: Tion Medon w/rifle and scepter 3 of 4: Wookiee Warrior w/blaster, helmet and leg armor 4 of 4: R4-G9 w/planet hologram Anakin Skywalker's Jedi starfighter The Sneak Preview Figs!!! These are highly collectible IF LEFT UNOPENED IN THE PACKAGE AND IN MINT CONDITION!! If you save these in the package they can be worth a lot of money in the future. Or you can just open them and play with them, like I do. There are 2 ways to go about this. #1. Buy the Figs that are Fan Favorites... I.E. Grievous. #2. Buy the least Favorite... like that R2 droid. The thing is... figs become "collectible" when they are off the market AND NO ONE HAS THEM. So if no one bought the Sneak Preview R2 unit it will be in High Demand later on. Understand? This applies to ALL figures. The favorite and the least favorite. These are the ones to buy! The same thing goes for the regular line of figs. The confusing part is that they come in Collections and Waves. Here is Collection 1, Wave 1. Don't be alarmed at this. I'll make it simple. APRIL 2005 Basic Figure Assortment - PIC BELOW! 851731 Collection 1 Wave 1 - April 2005 1x Obi-Wan Kenobi - Slashing Attack! w/blue saber and extra saber hilt 1x Anakin Skywalker - Lightsaber Attack! w/blue saber, red saber and hand 1x Yoda - Firing Cannon! 1x Super Battle Droid - Firing Arm Blaster! 1x Chewbacca - Wookiee Rage! w/bowcaster 1x Clone Trooper - Quick-Draw Attack! w/blaster rifle 1x R2-D2 - Droid Attack! w/gadgets 1x General Grievous - Four Lightsabers Attack! w/2 green sabers and 2 blue sabers (Second Release. First was sneak preview) 1x Grievous' Bodyguard - Battle Attack! w/staff 1x Mace Windu - Force Combat! w/purple saber and Force lightning 1x Darth Vader - Lightsaber Attack! w/red saber 1x Emperor - Firing Force Lightning! w/red saber and Force lightning This list represents the contents of 1 case. The numbers with the x next to them tell you how many figs are in that case. There are 12 different figs in this case, only 1 character each. So if you REALLY want the Emperor figure and you are right there when they open a case, you have a 1 in 12 chance of getting it. There should be 1 in that case. However stores stock late at night and very fast so you'll probably not be there unless you live near a 24 hour store like i do. But then STAR WARS nerds from all over the galaxy will be there also to steal your figs! These will be the HARDEST to get!! So grab your favs for yourself or hold on to them and if you want collectibles, KEEP THEM IN THE PACKAGE IN MINT CONDITION! Now on to Collection 2, Wave 1.
