The Southern "tuxedo" black paint scheme is one of my favorites, and the look of EMD high-hood units appeals to me.  Incidentally, Southern units are normally loaded with unique details, so the level of detail I go to pays off a little more on these engines.  So, I plan on detailing several of these units down the line. 
 
the mid-80's era is covered by GP38 #2815 with dynamic brakes, GP38 #2883 (formerly Norfolk Southern) without dynamic brakes, along with the turbocharged GP39X #4601.
 
 
For the mid-60's era, GP7 #2071 will team up with GP30 #2609.
 
Looks like when I took the picture of 2071 below, I had the shell on backwards (the air reservoirs are supposed to be behind the tank.  Oops!
 
In the late '40s, Southern ordered a single EMD NW-5 #2100 for light road switching.  This engine operated on Southern branchlines around the New Orleans area into the '70s.  I'd like to eventually put together an NW5 model, and this would be the perfect prototype.
