A life wasted chasing trains

My first train pictures were taken in 1957. My wife asks, why trains? Who knows, but my father commuted on the SP to San Francisco, and perhaps I picked up the bug watching the commute "fleet" thunder by waiting for his train in the evening. I hired out in engine service on SP's Coast Division in 1959 and actually got paid for "chasing trains". My career evolved from there. In 2000 I retired as VP and Managing Director of GATX Rail. Now I'm a "professional" railfan....and still chasing trains.
