Twenty-one two-seat electronic
countermeasures versions of the AD-2 were built under the designation AD-2Q. The ECM operator's
station was installed inside the fuselage to the rear of the cockpit, and he entered his station via a door in the port side
of the fuselage. An AN/APS-4 radar pod was installed underneath the starboard wing, and a MX-346/A chaff
dispenser pod was installed underneath the port wing. The plane was equipped with an AN/APR-1 search
receiver, AN/APA-1ll pulse analyzer and an AN/APA-38 panoramic adapter. There was a distinctive ECM blister on the lower rear fuselage, fed by an
airscoop aft of the radio antenna, as well as several other bulges and antennae.
