Jettisoned. 79192 on display at New England Air Museum. 79368 missing off NAS Corpus Christi TX during gunnery. 79445 collided in midair with F4U-4 BuNo 96790 over lower east side of Detroit Jun 23, 1948. Both pilots killed. It appears that both pilots could have bailed out but stayed with their planes to try and avoid damage to people and houses on the ground. 79480 collided with 72501 near Lebec, CA Dec 22, 1947. 79558 (F6F-5N) hit gunnery sleeve and ditched Sept 1, 1945.
