BUILDING A HOME

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which

is Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 3:10, 11).

There is only one home that will stand the storms of time, and

that is a home founded upon the firm rock -- Christ. Jesus said He

was to build His church upon the fact (rock) that He is the Christ,

the Son of the living God. This He accomplished. His blood was shed

to purchase the church (Acts 20:28). Jesus came to this earth, lived

among men, suffered persecutions, and died that man might have the

opportunity to prepare themselves for a future home in heaven with

God..

To build upon the firm foundation of Christ, one must HEAR His

words and DO them. Jesus put this teaching into the lesson about the

wise and foolish builders (Matthew 7:24-27). He states the one that

HEARD His teaching and DID them was like unto the man who build his

house upon the rock and the storms of life came and the house stood

because it was founded upon the rock; but the one that HEARD His

teaching and DID THEM NOT was like unto the man that build his house

upon the sand of time and the storms laid waist to it. So today, the

person who HEARS the words of Christ and OBEYS them is the one who

is building his home upon the firm foundation which will stand the

trials and tribulations of time. This home will last on into

eternity, when one day we stand before the Great Judge and receive

our reward, if truly we have HEARD and been OBEDIENT.

Yet, with this teaching so plain in the pages of God's Word,

many are seeking to build upon the weak and beggarly things of this

world; and just as surely the building will fall when put to the

great test!!

Upon what are you building? Are you seeking to find out what

Christ teaches through His Word? Are you building upon the firm

foundation?
