Jack Rooney was born in Hammond, Indiana. He grew up
in the Midwest.
After completing honorable military service in the US
Army (he recently received the "
Patriot Award" from the United States Army), Jack entered Indiana State University, majoring in Philosophy, and then
entered Northern Arizona University graduate school Master of Arts program to
major in English/Creative Writing and American Literature.
After
Graduate studies, Jack returned to the Midwest to begin his present career in
the media industry, focusing on film, television, music, and print media. Today,
Jack concentrates on the Internet and on the emerging technologies relating to
and influencing these traditional media, the "New Media".
Jack is also an
accomplished pianist, vocalist, and music composer. He is a member of the
American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and The American Society of Composers,
Authors and Publishers. (ASCAP). He has a number of alternative chart hits to
his credit including "Time Waits", "China Journey", and "After All", and he has
successfully released three top selling independently produced music albums in
the world music market, including "Nemesis" (1999), "Jack Rooney 2.1" (2001),
and "The Eternal Upgrade" (2003).
In combination with his successful
music career, Jack is also an accomplished actor and has worked on, appeared in,
and helped produce more than twenty feature films with some of the world's most
renowned talent.
Working at first as a crewmember and bit part player in large
productions, such as, "Natural Born Killers", "The Negotiator", "I Love
Trouble", "Blue Chips", "Rudy", and the highly rated television series, "The
Untouchables", he quickly moved up the industry ladder to
Writer/Director/Actor/Composer.
He has starred in and directed a number of independent feature
motion pictures, including "Deadly Discovery", "Our Burden Is Light" with Nate
Mendel of the Foo Fighters, and the critically
acclaimed film "Pushed Too Far" starring the late Claude Akins. His latest staring role is in "
Imaginary You" and is directed by John Rapp and Chris Brake and also stars
Nathan Erdel and Niki Warner.
Jack
presently resides in Indianapolis.
