Artist's Statement

"I am pleased to announce the release of my new "2.1" album through our gracious friends at Mp3.com, CDbaby.com, CDstreet.com, Amazon.com, and music stores.

In this new album, I try to move beyond the limits of myself while preserving the good things in life I have already found. People ask me about the title and I tell them it's a symbolic metaphor. Life is a constant upgrade. I enjoy writing love songs as much as I enjoy playing hard pounding rock or soft classical grand piano.

All of us living today have broad experience with all kinds of music from everywhere throughout our lives. That we are all the total of our experiences is perhaps a truism, but I think that indeed we are also more, much more. I mean, doesn't everything influence everything else in one way or another? Who can say where the horizon ends and the sky begins?

I have always tended toward a holistic interpretation of life, seeing everything as connected, nothing truly separate, and I try to reflect that in my music and my poetry. I do not think this is in any way metaphysical or transcendental or new age or new this is that. I think it is just common sense.

I guess anyone can count themselves lucky if they contribute just one thing new and fresh to the world in a lifetime, but on the other hand, we all contribute our own uniqueness to this world, and in that sense, we are all artists.

This is why, I think all people recognize the universality of music, its harmonics, rhythms, and patterns, and even silence has its place; these things are familiar to us all on a primal, basic level because we all, in some sense, are connected, and music is a universal link that reaffirms our common humanity in a basic way. It crosses cultural, physical, racial, ethnic and religious boundaries and teaches us and touches us at the level of the spirit, of the soul.

My approach to music will always be an attempt to pay honor to the listener and to that eternal spirit residing within.

The tracks on this album are arranged in a pattern. It begins with a vocal followed by a pure instrumental composition. This pattern is repeated throughout the album. I believe there is order and purpose in the universe, and if it is sometimes difficult to see in this world filled with seeming chaos, then one can always create.

I hope you enjoy this new album as much as I have enjoyed creating it for you. And thank you for your continued support of my work and your kind encouragement.
