Covent Garden

After the science museum displays, we jumped back on the tube and rode to Covent Garden, which is not a garden at all but a series of shops and restaurants, along with some open booth areas - a little bit of a flea market atmosphere.  We had lunch at a surprisingly good Japanese noodle shop - something I had not expected to find in London!

Then we meandered through several shops, and looked at the crafts and other items available in the market area.  Rather than take the underground again, we walked back to Waterloo station, passing through the theatre district (right next to Covent Garden), crossing over the Thames on Waterloo Bridge, and walking along the banks of the Thames.  We got our first up-close look at the London Eye - long lines! but decided it would be something really fun to do.  Finally we arrived at the station, and had a quick ride back to The Grove.  And in the finest English tradition, Cindy served tea - delightful!
