Infrared-Enabled 8MP Digital Rebel XT and Canon 50mm Lens
The Canon Digital Rebel XT at the left has been professionally modified to record infrared light. The internal blocking filter has been removed and replaced with optical grade glass of the precise thickness so as to maintain proper focus. It includes all standard accessories in the box. It has received very limited use, and is in like new condition. It also comes with a the following Canon lens and Hoya infrared filter - both in like-new condition.
(1) Canon EF 50mm F1.8 Mark I metal mount lens which is perfect for infrared. (includes caps)
(2) Hoya R72 720nm infrared filter
With the included R72 infrared passing filter on the lens, the camera will produce outstanding infrared images. With an optional nfrared blocking filter (hot mirror filter) on the lens, it will produce great color images (manual white balance will ensure proper color rendition). When shooting infrared, you will need to manually set shutter speed and aperture to produce the best IR images. And, because infrared filters do not pass visible light, you will not see the image through the viewfinder when you are composing the shot (you can review it after shooting on the LCD). A memory card are not included but can be purchased separately. For the serious infrared enthusiast, this is the ultimate camera and lens. This infrared camera kit has had limited professional use by InfraredVideo.com and is in like-new condition. It produces outstanding infrared images!
