Manufactured, coated, polished and mounted exclusively for us in limited quantity by Hoya Corporation in Japan. This filter transmits infrared light above 1000 nanometers while blocking all visible light. This is significantly higher than the more widely available RM90 which is rated at 900nm, the R72 which is only 720nm, the entire 87 series of Wratten infrared filters as well as all B+W and Tiffen infrared filters. With the RM100, you can be sure that your images are on the furthest end of the infrared portion of spectrum that can be recorded by infrared film or infrared enabled camcorders, digital cameras and ccd cameras. This professional-grade filter is made of 2.42 mm thick high quality Hoya optical glass and has Hoya's Infrared Optimized Anti-Reflective Coating applied to both the front and back filter surfaces which increases the quality of the resulting infrared image. Each filter is packaged in a protective plastic filter case and a Hoya Transmittance Chart for the RM100 is included for reference. The RM100 comes in a 49mm standard thread size for compatibility with many different types of film cameras, digital cameras and camcorders.
