This is a portrait that won first place in the Paul Lawrence Dunbar art contest, sponsored by Wright State University in Ohio. The concept was to illustrate one of Dunbar's writings. I chose his poem "Lincoln", to pay homage to my art mentor, Lloyd Ostendorf, a nationally respected Lincoln scholar. The painting is in the library's permanent collection.
