I'm a beautiful IG girl who's five years old, and I'm dark seal brown with a few white markings. Thanks to my Foster Mommy's Boot Camp and food reduction, I've already lost some weight and it's been pretty easy. No one can believe how great I look!

I LOVE my daily walks. I don't beg-even though I would love to. I'm pretty mild mannered-no means no and I don't protest. I'm very reliable in the crate, and I've got good house-manners. I have learned to use a pet door with supervision and have been doing all my business outside. I'm learning to share and play well — each day I learn that the pack here only wants me to have fun. I'd love to meet you!

Chance PhotoChance

Contact IGCA about Chance

Preliminary info: Chance is a blue boy and just bee-u-ti-ful — really, really handsome — a very classic hound-looking face and great lines. At 12 pounds, he is a slightly-biggy-iggy. Chance is smart, smart, smart, and loving and gentle to a fault. He listens well, and has had NO house accidents in his foster home, so far. His one Achilles Heel is that he appears to have a little anxiety about being left alone.

Tory PhotoToryanne

Contact IGCA about Toryanne

Hello, my name is Toryanne and I am a beautiful fawn lady of 9. I have only recently had my female surgery to retire me from being a mommy all of my life. I have been a bit shy and nervous since being in my new foster home in San Antonio, but I am gradually beginning to understand what is is like to be pampered and spoiled, and truly loved.

My potty-skills are coming along well — my foster mom has been able to teach me to use puppy potty-pads. So far, I think it's a great concept! I sleep in my crate all night, I might do a big shake every once in awhile in the middle of the night and make you think I'm breaking out, but that's just what I do. As long as you get me up between 6 & 7 AM, I don't have an accident in my crate (my mature body is able to "hold it" for almost 9 hours in my crate at night). Since I've spent so much of my life in a crate, my foster parents have set me up in a private room just off the kitchen where I can come out if I want to see all that's going on in the household. It's the best of both worlds for me, since a lot of things still scare me, but I'm getting better each day.  I'm current on all my vaccinations and I've already had my spay surgery and a dental.

I don't really enjoy going out the door, but once you get me outside on-lead, I really enjoy going for walks and strutting my stuff. I am still learning what toys are and what playing in general means, but at my age, who needs it anyway? My kibble needs to be mixed with some good broth or forget it, and I'm not crazy about going to the water bowl for drinks — the kitchen is a big place to me. I'm gaining a bit of weight and starting to look like a true IG Diva. I'm looking forward to many happy years of retirement in my new forever home. I'd love to meet you. Don’t worry if I shake a little bit — I'm just nervous and excited all at the same time! (fostering in San Antonio area)

My name is Hannah. I am a beautiful blue girl with Irish markings. I am four years old, and I have never known a day without love. My family’s home dynamics changed, and I was lovingly surrendered to rescue.

My foster parents say I need a home without small children. I’m very good with older children though. I’m used to being an only dog, but I get along well with my foster sisters as long as we are fed separately. I love snuggling with them in the dog beds or under under the covers with our humans.

I am refined and my good manners only add to my classic beauty. I love going for walks and show my gratitude by walking nicely on leash. I prefer doing my business in the back yard, except on rainy cold days. Oops, did I say that out loud? Let me explain. I am pee-pad trained and prefer to use those during bad weather.

My health is excellent. When I was very young, the dog sitter dropped me. But I had great medical care and my legs are just fine. I have plates in my two front legs, but you can hardly even see the scars. My legs are just gorgeous.

Right after my dental, I’ll be available to take applications for my adoption. Please hurry. My paparazzi foster parents won’t stop taking pictures of me. They say the camera loves me. Check out my video and photomontage. I hope we meet soon!

Bella Luna PhotoBella Luna

Contact IGCA about Bella Luna

Ciao Tutti! I’m Bella and I have been told my name fits my description, BEAUTIFUL! I was born 2 1-/2 years ago, I am fawn and white, average size and I am very shy! I have had all my vetting done as recent as Oct. of 2009. Of course, since you’re meeting me here, you must know that I am
looking for my forever home!

I’m really just a kid but I‘ve been owned by 2 families and have been in 2 foster homes. My current foster parents will tell you there is nothing wrong with me, in fact I look and behave like a champion. I get along with adults, kids and other dogs but it takes me a while to warm up. As for a cat… who knows because I’ve never met one. You probably have guessed that because I’ve been around I am leery of association at first. I need stability. Now you can understand that I really would like my next home to truly be my forever home.

Once you get past my being a bit reluctant at first I’m pretty much your average, playful, sweet, and loving IG. I play with toys, give kisses and really like rawhide chews and the treats that I get for being a good girl and doing all my business outside. Nails, baths and brushing, no problem, I like to be pampered. My safe place is my kennel and I go there to sleep thru the night with no problem. I like walks and ride well on the seat of a car. I don’t mind wind, cold or wet grass when I go out in the backyard.

If you take me to my forever home I promise I will give love in return and be a very good girl.

Pie PhotoPie

Contact IGCA about Pie

Pie is a very sweet and loving Biggy Iggy — 15 pounds and about 17" at the shoulder. He is a beautiful red-fawn and white boy, estimated to be between 5-8 years old.

Unfortunately, Pie tested heartworm-positive, and therefore, will not be ready for adoption until he completes his treatments for this disease. Pie is crate-trained and is, at times, very vocal in his crate. He likes to howl and even 'honk' for short bursts. This is actually quite cute, but maybe not best for apartment dwellers! He loves to snuggle under the covers, although he does sleep in his crate.

Pie would be fine in a home with other dogs. He is not alpha or aggressive. He is quite social and loves to hang out with his canine or human pack. Pie has shown an interest in the cat on the other side of the fence. A test has yet to be done to see how Pie would react to a cat in his near vicinity, so might be considered unfriendly to cats. (fostering in Beaumont area)

Carmen PhotoCarmen

Contact IGCA about Carmen

Cats must GO! Fair warning. My name is Carmen, and I am a sight hound to the core of my being. My life purpose is to terrorize cats, all of them, everywhere! I can hide in the dark and sneak up on them thanks to my beautiful black coat.

This is not to suggest that I am unidimensional. Indeed, I love to wrangle with other big Iggies like me. You see, I’m not a delicate flower. I’d be keen on having a regular wrestling partner my own size. If they like hunting cats too, yippee! It’s possible that I may want to be the dominant dog, but I’m not going to knock over the furniture or anything.

I’m friendly, good-natured, and gentle, and greet everyone with kisses. But I take my time before getting into a serious relationship with someone new. Being inside the house is great, but .... is that an open door ....? I am basically a good dog, and as a bonus I will help you hone your dog-training skills. As for my people, I love your attention and to sleep with you. Any human in the house will do so long as they let me under the covers. But I can allow you to have other things on your lap besides me. In fact, sometimes I need alone time to contemplate my own navel.

I’m easy to feed because I love my food. I mean, I LOVE food. I’m really active so I need my fuel. Just maybe not as much as I think I need. Good thing I don’t have money or I’d buy myself LOTS of treats. I understand the leash, and love the dog park. I’m doing great learning to go potty outside. Hopefully I’ll see a cat while I’m out there! Have you ever noticed how cats can distract you from stuff like going potty or your mom calling?

I love my name, Carmen. It gives me kind of an international flair. And you may have noticed my white fashion booties and bib. I wear them all the time. Since I’m only 4 years old, I can make you laugh for many years to come. Take me home. Just don’t forget that cats must go!

Bridgette PhotoBridgette

Contact IGCA about Bridgette

Bridgette here. Please pronounce it "Bridge-ET". I’m so disarmingly unaware of my beauty, don’t you think? It’s a gift, and yet, a burden. I’m a leggy fawn-and-white with a stunning profile, and plenty of confidence. Spare me the timid; I need an owner and housemates who are my equals. What’s mine is mine by golly. (Maybe I need a little help with that.)

I’m only 6 years old, so I’m energetic — I like to see, and chase, and talk! I’ll be your watchdog, keep your windows clear of cobwebs, and your yard clear of small animals, including silly cats. Although dogs bigger than me are scary, I’m great with gentle children. I’ll go in my crate when you say so, but I’d really rather sleep with my person. I even give sweet kisses!

I’m good in the house, ask to go out for potty, and love my food. I may need help with portion control, but hey, who doesn’t? I’m spayed, veterinarian checked, and ready to go. If you are lively like me, we could have a beautiful friendship!

Got a lap? I could be your best cuddle-buddy. My name is Jelly; I’m a serene 7-year-old fawn with a heart full of goodness. I’m so happy to have been spayed, veterinarian checked, vaccinated, and to be ready for my new home. Since I’m quite social, I would be pleased to share it with other dogs and people. My crate is ok if there isn’t a lap available. As much as I love my food, I haven’t let myself go. Look how fit I am! I have vowed to continue with good food choices and portion control. How big is a portion, anyway? As for important business, I choose to do it outside, but watch out, fences mean nothing to me. I may be little, but I'm mighty. To compensate for that naughtiness, I have these adorable floppy ears. Should we have a lap test? (fostering in El Campo area)

TaylorTaylor

Contact IGCA about Taylor

Meet Taylor. He's a big, sturdy, handsome, mature adult, mostly seal with just enough white markings to highlight his strong neck and shoulders. This fellow loves the ladies. As for men, he's most comfortable with those who are gentle and patient (he's too refined for rough-housing). Taylor enjoys his four legged friends, too.

Taylor is in excellent health — no heartworms, and he's had a thorough veterinary examination and vaccinations. He will have his final dental care in September, and then be ready to nestle in to his new Forever Home. Taylor is neutered and fine with his crate.

Like many of us, Taylor is working on toning and firming. He thinks he would be more comfortable a couple of pounds lighter than his current 22-pounds. At 10 years old, Taylor is alert and curious, but also relaxed and adaptable. Taylor would love to be your choice for a best buddy.

AnnetteAnna

Contact IGCA about Anna

Click here to see Anna's YouTube video

Annette is a 6 1/2 year old female who is no longer a working girl. Called Anna in her foster home, she has been a bit timid so far in her new life as a pet. We think that with time and patience, she will overcome her fears — she already craves attention, but is still a little nervous when she gets it.

Anna is a gentle dog, and is not a pack leader. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, though she doesn't play with them yet. She is not used to a leash, but her foster parents have started leash-training (we'll keep you posted).

We think Anna will do best in a home with a backyard, and another iggy, or two, to show her the ropes. She is a great little dog, and with time and a gentle hand she will blossom into the IG princess she was meant to be.

Wait, wait! Don’t skip my bio.  I’ve got an update! I am doing great.  I like the good life in my foster home.  I am a “good-natured sweetheart,” as my foster mom calls me, who wants a chance to be someone’s special boy.  She says at 9 years-old I am a distinguished gentleman, but I am not so distinguished that I would miss a chance to frolic with my foster sister.   (Hey don’t blame me, she started it!)  My foster family was so worried that I’d be heartbroken without my sister Lily when she found her forever home, and yeah, I missed her at first, but my foster sister licks my ears, and I am just happy Lily is finally getting all the loving she deserves.  My foster mom says I’ve even become more affectionate since Lily left, kind of gave me the extra push to reach out more to the humans in my home.  But I was already pretty good at getting pets.  With all those other iggies in the house a guy has to do what a guy has to do. For me, that is to put my paw on my foster mom’s arm or thigh and gaze into her eyes and remind her to turn off the computer and just give me some loving.  I’ve learned to stand still so she can pick me up and then I relax in her arms, and when I am really happy to see her, I even give a kiss or two. I am very good with my potty habits, and get along well with all the other IG's that come in and out of this house.

If you are that special person for me, you know, the one who can appreciate a 9 years-young, shy-at-first, gentleman, I hope you will fill out an application so you can meet me in person.  I want to tell Lily I found my forever home, too. Oh and please take a look at my new video so you can see for yourself how dashing and happy I am.  (Like all our IG's, Joey is neutered and fully vetted, and ready to go.)

RhettRhett

Contact IGCA about Rhett

Rhett is an extremely silly little guy. He loves to be the center of attention and will bounce and spin around when he's excited. Because he had to have so many teeth removed his canine teeth stick out and look sort of funny but we think it just adds to his charm. We also had to hide his pills in cheese after his surgery so we have started calling him "Rat" instead of Rhett. He has excellent leash manners and basic house manners, he doesn't jump up and try to get in your face. Since his neuter surgery (and with close supervision) we have almost completely eliminated his marking in the house. He is pretty quiet but will bark an alert if something significant is going on. He was at the clinic with me one day last week and one of our employees brought her grandkids into the back and he was there and panicked. That is the only time that he has been around kids that I am aware so I want to borrow my neighbors children this weekend and just see for myself how he is, so he may not be a good fit for a household that has kids.

Rosie PhotoRosalie

Contact IGCA about Rosalie

Howdy Ya’ll, my name is Rosalie. I’m a former “working girl”, and my employers did not believe in a benefits package!  I am looking for a forever “retirement” home. As you can see from my picture I am still young at two, and quite pretty. I have great references as my foster family has nothing but good things to say about me.

I have been spayed (am HW neg) and have an excellent bill of health. I am
friendly, but am not sure of human pups (under 6), but I get along fine with the older ones. I enjoy walks and like my sister dogs just fine. I ignore the cats, but not their food! So, if you're looking for a loyal friend who happens to be a wee bit shy of thunder I am the one for you!
