The ole mutt is still alive and kicking. He's getting old, but you wouldn't really know it by the way he still acts. He's a little more gray around the muzzle, but otherwise, just the way he's been. It's hard to believe that he's been with me for 10 years already!
Many thanks goes out to all you who have had to 'mutt-sit' for me while the Navy (and others) called me away. There are a bunch of you and I am forever grateful.
He still goes Rock Climbing & Backpacking with me and still carries his own backpack.

Backpacking to 'The Pines' near Ojai, CA (Spring 2002). He was more than 12 years old and still when backpacking!
RECENT PICTURES...
This spring, he did a 13-miler through the mountains north of Ventura. It was a bit hot for him and the water is somewhat lacking up there. I think that will be his last long hike. I have to be realistic, he can't keep up the same pace forever...but he sure does try!

WHO'S GETTING OLD?!?!
He still runs around at the beach like he did 10 years ago--just a little slower. At almost 13 years old, that seems absolutely amazing!
