The more time I spend with dogs, the more I realize how exceptional Shadow was.  In my ignorance, I purchased Shadow from a backyard breeder so I was fortunate that he turned out to be such a delightful, healthy companion.  Despite my numerous novice handler mistakes, Shadow earned placements for two of his three Open legs and placed 8th out of more than 40 dogs for the remaining leg.  I called Shadow the "Will Rogers" of the canine world because he never met anyone he didn't like.  I began experiencing severe health problems which restricted me to trialing Shadow on a very limited basis, yet he was still named the #2 obedience Cairn in the country in 1989 under the Shuman ranking system.  An extraordinary companion, a special obedience competitor, and a wonderful  therapy dog,  I feel extremely blessed to have had Shadow in my life for 15 years.

Shadow now waits at the Rainbow Bridge.

Have you seen the cartoon that says, "When you're on the Internet, no one knows you're a dog?"
So much to learn...

so little time!

Are you sure Therapy Dogs International requires a bath before every visit to the hospital???
