Wellness belongs to being a Christian. We Christians are filled with the source of wellness, the Holy Spirit, WHO gives to each one of us peace of mind and a clean heart/spirit. The love of God ("agape" Gk.) purges our spirit of hate, malice, judgment and self pride.

Jesus Christ brought the special peace of God to His followers. In John 14:27 Jesus said: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.... Let not your heart be troubled...." This special truth was given to the disciples of Christ because of His soon coming crucifixion and death.

Jesus had personal peace in the midst of great trial and rejection by the leaders and other Jews. In this same discourse Jesus gave the promise of the Father God's sending of the Holy Spirit into the world of Christians to abide within each one.

The Holy Spirit comes to bring rich fruit ("karpos" Gk. meaning fruit, benefit, profit, reward). Love, joy, peace are each a part of the whole of the fruitfulness of the Spirit in our lives (Gal. 5:22f). Wellbeing swells up in the soul and spirit of the Spirit filled Christian. Our sense of wellbeing is an inward calmness and secureness which comes from our Lord Jesus Christ who has given His life in order for us to have complete peace within and with heaven and earth.

This does not mean we will not have events and situations which challenge our lives and powers of living. It means we have the source of continuing strength and stamina to endure with assuredness and confidence. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth("endunamounti" Gk. to empower) me" (Phil. 4:13) is a Christian's motto of his/her sure CONFIDENCE and PRAISE in the powerful strength of God.

HEART MEDICINE

While laughter may be the belly medicine, since when you laugh your belly gets into the actions, opening your heart to the love of God and your neighbor is the cure for a troubled heart. Look beyond yourself with your troubles and sinful failures to the Lord who wants to cleanse you from your sins and proneness to sin. King David sinned and was troubled in his heart and he asked God to: "search me and know my heart..." Ps. 139:22. By opening up to God and seeking forgiveness, David found new peace from/with God. David was God's chosen king and a man after God's own heart, but in his carnality he sinned against a good man and stole his wife. David's heart was broken when afterward he remembered his sins. Nathan, the man of God and prophet, pointed David back to his sins and guilt. Peace of mind and heart only came when David repented and sought the mercy of God. See II Sam. 11, 12.

Many men and women have committed the sin of adultery at some point in ther lives and their hearts have been hardened by guilty stains with a type of spiritual stenosis. Forgiveness with cleansing of their hearts is the medicine required.

Whatever sins you may have committed, God is merciful and wants to cleanse your heart. You can have a new heart and beginning through Jesus Christ. See :Ro. 1:2, 6:17; 10:6, 8, 9 10.

SOUND MIND

HAVING THE SOUND MIND IS A GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BELIEVERS. THE APOSTLE PAUL MENTIONS SOUNDNESS OF FAITH, DOCTRINE AND MIND (I & II TIM. AND TITUS) EVERY BELIEVER YOUNGER OR OLDER, MALE OR FEMALE NEEDS TO THINK SOBERLY OF THEMSELVES AND OF THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD AS CHILDREN OF GOD, REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST JESUS. THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL GIVE TO EACH OF US A SOUND MIND AS CHRIST JESUS HAD A SOUND MIND.

HE WAS GRAVE IN MANNER BUT NOT DULL OR INDIFFERENT. HE WAS A GOOD LISTENER BUT NOT JUST AN AGREER. HE WAS OPEN TO THE SPEECH OF OTHERS BUT NOT WITHOUT RESPONSE OR INSTRUCTION, CONSOLATION, OR REBUKE. WE CAN BE OF THE MIND OF CHRIST IN OUR DAILY LIVES. WE CAN STUDY THE SCRIPTURES AND LEARN THE WAYS OF JESUS AND THEN LET THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWER/ENABLE US TO WALK IN THE WAYS OF JESUS.

IN PHILLIPIANS 2:5, JESUS EMPTIED HIMSELF OF HIS HEAVENLY FORM IN GOD THE FATHER AND BECAME A SERVANT TO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER AND AS THE SON OF MAN BECAME OBEDIENT TO DEATH ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS. WE NEED TO HAVE THS SAME LOVING CARE IN OUR HEARTS FOR GOD'S WILL IN OUR LIVES.

Having a sound mind is thinking sober, healthful, loving and godly thoughts which lead to good works of honor and glory to God and Christ Jesus; see Phil.4:8,9; Col:3:10.

"KEEPING A SOUND MIND"

Reoccurring thoughts and ideas come into our minds and sometimes prevent us from thinking about the present tasks and problems. These compulsive-like thoughts obviously have a source. So consider what you have been looking at, for instance TV shows and programs, or things you have been reading, or what you've been discussing and talking about. If you allow yourself to be led into harmful thoughts, you will be troubled by those thoughts. The troubling thoughts may reoccur and block out good and honorable/positive thoughts. You can deal with this problem by sharing it with a concerned, mature Christian friend and praying over it together. Scripture teaches us that the Holy Spirit will guide God's children into a sound mind and direct us into purity of mind and thought/action (John 14-17; Phi. 4:6f; Titus 3:1f; I Pet. 1:13f).

The Greek words usually used for healthy, whole, pure, uncorrupt, sane, modest, calm, temperate, discreet are "hugiainousae" and "sophronismou". I think of a healthy sober mental attitude and understanding. See I Tim. 1:10 and II Tim. 1:7.

TOTAL BEING

Although one's daily life is an ongoing series of events, problems, questions, and calls for responses, we must face our life as one given to us in Christ. This is new, fresh and abundantly free. We, with open eyes of trust in our risen, living, loving Lord, can see in our spirits the blessings of Christ resting upon us.

Therefore, any question of action is already settled in God's will, as we pray and live for His will to be done each moment. There is no greater joy and solitude of comfort, than with the Holy Spirit of Jehovah resting within us.

Wisely consider the information below.

I DON'T TAKE ANY MEDICATION AND want good advice and research before agreeing to take anything, but to eat fresh good foods in moderation. Lipid tests on my blood are acceptable with the right diet; blood pressure couldn't be better. I avoid sugar filled foods, white flour foods, and high glycemic indexed foods. I weigh around 160 at medium height. I exercise daily, the more intense the better, and the longer the duration the better. I have never smoked a cigarette or drank alcoholic drinks.

, I might die the next hour but I'd be extremely surprised with the way I feel, with no pain, only a few aches, and excellent energy. I have to give the Lord all the credit. He's my Lord/ boss and disciplinarian. HLW, Phil. 3,4

I'm praying for your care through Christ Jesus, the Lord of perennially new total life, now and forever. Keeping praying and trusting. Take a moment to go to my prayer link.
