To become worthy of honor and praise a person should be seeking to serve for the good of others rather than to be personally acclaimed as "great." In the world of boxing and wrestling, it is popular to declare yourself to be the "great" one. This is the opposite of true greatness which is done with humility and lowliness. We admire and appreciate the person who freely gives to those who truly cannot provide for themselves. Men teach the Boy Scouts the importance of service to others. And a heart which serves the poorest and neediest without charge is one worthy of praise, honor and glory.

This--the heart of Christ Jesus--is the heart of God the Father. John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."KJV. Jesus came to give Himself a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world of mankind which was doomed and perishing without the true almighty God. This He did on Calvary's awful shameful cross of death for the ungodly and sinful persons of this world. And that includes all of us since we have been guilty of sin and disobedience to God's holy law.

Now, He is truly worthy of our thanksgiving and honor as our Savior who saves us from our sins. And, He sends to us the Holy Spirit to dwell within, teaching and guiding each one into the true life of fellowship with God our Heavenly Father.

The beloved Apostle John wrote in Revelation 5:12 "saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb (Christ) that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing...."KJV. Jesus had willingly given His life's blood as a lamb slain for the sacrificial payment/atonement of our sin debt. By the grace of God we are set free from the penalty of our sins so that we can live the abundant life of peace from and with God. Christ Jesus is now and forever worthy of all our praise and honor.

Before looking at the sevenfold words of honor and praise to the "Lamb" that was slain; who is to open the seven seals of the Book in the Father's right hand, notice that the Book is all important in that everything in it has to do with the earth, the world and the body of Christ the Church. This Book is full and COMPLETE IN DETAIL. The seven horned and seven eyed Lamb stands in victory and triumph, and possesses authoritative power to open the seven seals of the Book.

The Lamb of God who was slain (on the cross) stands (resurrected power) ready to open each seal because He alone is worthy. It is His due to receive--power ("dunamin" from "dunamai" meaning, power, might, strength, ability); riches ("plouton" from "ploutos" meaning riches, wealth, abundance); wisdom ("sophian" from "sophos" meaning learned, intelligent, full of knowledge); Christ had learned obedience by the things which He had suffered according to the will of His Father in the world of sin's darkness; strength ("iskun" from "iskus" meaning strength, might, power to prevail); Christ the Lamb had prevailed over Satan and death; honor("timen" meaning careful regard, veneration, dignity, reverence); glory ("doxan" meaning credit, radiance, magnificence); blessing ("eulogian" meaning to speak good praise, celebration, liberal praise).

Christ Jesus, the LAMB of GOD (John 1:36) alone has conquered the power of death for all people who believe upon Him for deliverance from sin and death into new life. It is He who stands worthy to open the seven seals of the Book in the Father's right hand and is worthy of all heaven and earth's praise. Let us praise Him today and forevermore! AMEN! AMEN!
