ROGER GARLAND |
| Born 1950. Studied
at Plymouth and Wolverhampton Colleges of Art and Design, obtaining a degree in Graphic
Design. Taught Art four ten years in Cornwall, and began a career in illustration whilst
still teaching. Received book jacket commission in 1981 from publishers Allen and Unwin
for J R R Tolkien's "Unfinished Tales". Commissioned for 1984 and 1989 Tolkien
Calendar. Commissioned in 1989 to illustrate Tolkien's "Farmer Giles of Ham"'
,"The Adventures of Tom Bombadil", and "The Smith of Wootton Major". With Linda established The Lakeside Gallery (actual) , Cornwall in 1989 , Lakeside Gallery (publishing ) in 1991 and lakeside-gallery.com in March 1998. Established Lakeside Gallery, Barbiacan, Plymouth 1999. |

LINDA GARLAND |

Scarborough (UK), 1948. Studied Sacarborough Art School and Wolverhampton College of Art
and Design, obtaining a degree in Fine Art. Moved to Cornwall in 1973 and taught Art at
Falmouth School. Began a career in illustration in 1977, and was taken on by top London
artists' agent. Has worked for publishing companies in London, USA., Australia and Europe,
and has been commissioned by London Weekend T.V., IBM., Caswell Massey, Rank Xerox,
British Rail and Europes most prestigious publisher, Giorgio Mondadori, Milan. First complete book 1983, "The Countryside Cookbook", and has illustrated many titles since. Her work has been exhibited in Geneva, London and Germany and she has sold several fantasy paintings in the USA. |
