Diamond Springs

Diamond Springs Pony Express Trail Diamond Springs was a stop on the Pony Express as well as the Overland Stage and Mail Company. The picture of the Pony Express Trail was taken near Daimond Springs. We aren't sure that this trail is the real Pony Express Trail, but the sign near this trail states that the Pony Express went over the hill in the picture. The trail went that way too. Part of the excitement of rural Nevada is speculating on the history. So even if the horses hooves didn't exactly go over this part of the desert, it was fun to think that they might have. In the mid 1990's when we visited, Diamond Springs had remains of the Overland Stage station. It was surrounded by trees and was very peaceful. We could almost hear the hoof beats of the riders.
