PROPOSAL FOR THE ERADICATION OF |

FINAL EXAM There have been a number of theories and tests purporting to show that the average IQ of Blacks is somewhat lower than that of Whites and Asians, but they have been challenged as biased and/or designed without compensating for differences in educational opportunities and environment. Now, here is a test that will establish the degree of common sense, good faith and social responsibility of all Americans and their determination to end racial CONFLICT and CONFRONTATION, as well as their understanding of the consequences of flunking the Test. This test cannot be challenged nor rejected as biased, because it is not an attempt to fudge the superiority or inferiority of one group or another. Neither does it require any special talent or knowledge to which only one group is privy. All the information required to pass is "out there", of public domain. And all it takes to pass is: PARTICIPATION. Participating will indicate objectivity, a healthy view of human relations, a clear understanding of the situation and the consequences of the alternatives, and the determination to minimally sacrifice personal pride and prejudice for the benefit of all. Non-participation will indicate indifference to non-self, unwillingness to relate and feel empathy, and inability to distinguish between HEALTHY RACISM and SICK RACISM in the best of cases, or self-centered proclivity for anti-social behavior, in the worst of cases. A significant majority of Participations for both Whites and Blacks would strongly indicate that Americans are sufficiently developed intellectually to address social problems objectively and pragmatically. And America, without forgetting the past, could develop healthily in the present and look confidently to the future. It will happen eventually anyway by social evolution. This test will simply put it on fast-forward, saving untold and unnecessary pain, anguish, bitterness, pent-up anger and physical and legal turmoil. 
TEST DATE: Every August 28 (King's "Dream" speech anniversary), business day or otherwise.
1) To stimulate enthusiasm for the beginning of a new era in American society and establish the foundation for harmonious human relations without racial animosity nor apprehension. 2) To determine the proportion of Americans who understand that judging all people "NOT BY THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN, BUT BY THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER" and raising their young accordingly is the only really effective way of assuring "Liberty and Justice for all." 3) To determine the level of popular enthusiasm and support for the institutionalization of "KING'S DREAM DAY" with a symbolic nationwide handshake in the course of normal activities, as a yearly homage to the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his Dream of the most civilized human relations philosophy in America since the Constitution. The Test can only uplift and benefit each Participant and the whole Nation. Obviously, it will not of itself instantly change the way people feel or have been brought up to feel. It is not a panacea, only a symbolic beginning. A sorely needed and fervently desired sigh of relief. There will always be differences of interests and opinion, even between same-race individuals. Even in the best of families. There will always be violent people and gentle people, people that attract and people that repel, the honest and the dishonest, scholars and ignoramuses. And every degree in between. And bigots. It will, however, be a step in the right direction. Forward and upward, toward King's light at the end of the tunnel, not backward and downward toward Farrrakhan's darkness of the past. TEST LOGISTICS AND COST: Participation is easy and costs nothing. There are no dues, donations or attendance fees, no contributions to "the cause", no economic or political benefit for anyone. No money, time nor effort wasted in congregating. No logistics. No organization. No speeches. No leaders. In this day and age of electronic mass communication, the only people who benefit from body counts are the leaders, certainly not the led. The spending of large amounts of money in travel and lodging, the inconvenience of standing around like cattle for a headcount so that the "leader", the "benefactor" can show the world the degree of control over "his" people*, the ignominy of having to use makeshift toilet facilities, the time lost from work and, topping it all, the humiliation of having paid attendance fees and "voluntary" contributions solely for the purpose of inflating the ego - and the coffers - of a "leader" who cannot give anything in return. Million Man March, anyone? * Farrakhan complained to an interviewer on TV, that having shown his control by herding a million people in one place, "the media" did not pay sufficient attention to him.
