Camping Check List for Each Scout

At end of packing all items should be
struck-out or ticked off.
Hat with brim
(optional)
Shorts (only if warm weather forecast)(one pair)
Short-sleeve shirts (only if warm weather forecast)(one
pair)
Socks (e.g. ploypro. inner & wool/synthetic outer) -
(two pair)
Towel (small)
Wind/Rain shell
Cold Weather Clothing
Insulated parka
or coat with hood (ski jacket OK but some may be too hot)
Long pants (wool pref.) ski-overalls OK, fleece pants OK (two
pair)
Long sleeve shirt (two pair)
Long underwear
(top & bottom) (two pairs)
Wool or fleece Mittens or ski gloves (two pair)
Glove liners with waterproof over-mittens are also good
Polypro or Wool shirt (two pair)
Polypro/Wool stocking cap or similar
Polypro or Wool sweater (two), or a vest and a sweater
Gaiters
(boot-to-pants covers) optional but help keep boots dry
Mukluks or snow boots (tennis not OK, après-ski
boots may be OK)
lined gumboots may be Ok with good socks
Over-trousers, waterproof
Sunglasses or
ski goggles
Lip balm and sun screen
Snowshoes (if available)
Garbage bags
(pack liners and for putting wet items in)
Ziplock bags (1 gallon) enough to pack individual clothing
items in
Headlamp (optional)
Sleeping bag
(liner optional) must be synthetic, down Not OK for Scouts
One inch thick closed cell sleeping pad or two lower quality pads
Ground cloth (tarp) for inside shelter
Small insulated pad for sitting on (optional but highly
recommended)
Mess kit &
canteen
Pack or duffel bag, (Pack cover optional)
Camp pillow
Toiletries kit
The GOAL of
Clothing is to have two complete sets of key items for
wearing in the snow and one set of non-snow clothing in a dry bag
in the car (the latter can be the clothes that you wore in the
car).
