Evening of January 8th, Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th

Skiing at Bear Valley (Hwy 4), Practice for Klondike Derby at Lake Alpine
Accomodations
Arnold, in Independence Hall (stayed there in 1998)
Leaders
Trip Leader = A. Hitchings, Assistant = Chris Cowing
Attendance
Friday night to Saturday 4 p.m., 6 adults and 13 scouts. Saturday evening to Sunday 4 adults and 9 scouts.
Activities
Saturday - skied at Bear Valley (group discount), excellent weather, lift lines excellent. No express chairs, upper part of mountain well suited to learners and intermediates. Lower part of mountain closed. Bear Valley had some good man made jumps for use by skiers and snow boarders. Sunday - tested snow sled, made Quinzee snow shelter and trench snow shelter, built fire in snow. Some scouts played poker (with chips) Saturday evening.
Injuries
One wrist sprained or fractured snowboarding, was not reported to adult leader until Sunday morning.
