1999 Cookout Summary:
The troop had its first Cooking Competition for the year on May 1. We had 11 scouts, 11 dads, 4 moms, 1 grandma, and 3 cub scout from Den 27 with their parents feasted on some mighty fine grup. The day for the most part was sunny with some clouds and some wind picking up later in the day. On the whole the event turned out to be very enjoyable to all and everyone had a delicious meal.
For a start we had smoky links in a teriyaki sauces with a touch of sesame seeds followed by Italian sausages with French bread as our appetizer.
Next we had clam chowder soup, tortilla soup and cream of broccoli. For the main meal we had Voodoo BBQ chicken with baked beans from the Voodoo Patrol. From the Puppetmasters Patrol they had pasta with grilled chicken, garlic bread, Caesar salad and a fruit salad. Follow by the Voltage Patrol with a pasta alfredo with mushrooms and shrimp and a mixed fruit salad. Of course the Dad Patrol had BBQ teriyaki chicken and chicken paella. What happen to the Senior Patrol? They came for the food.
Dessert? Of course there is room for dessert. Lets try berry cobbler, fresh strawberry shortbread, and cherry's jubilee.
