Revelation 2:1-3, "Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted."

The city of Ephesus was one of the main ports of Galatia. A prosperous city which was devoted to the worship of the fertility goddess Artemis or Diana. During his first missionary trip to the city of Ephesus Paul and his followers created such a discord among the worshippers of this goddess that the disciples of Paul begged him to leave for fear of his life.

Acts 19:26-28, "Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians."

In approximately 60 to 62 A.D. Paul wrote what was referred to as the Ephesia grammata while imprisoned in Rome. He sent this epistle to the church at Ephesus by the hand of Tynichus a brother and minister of the Lord.

Ephesians 5:6-8, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light."

Paul's letter to the Ephesians admonishes them to walk according to the Spirit and to stay steadfast in unity through love.

There is strength in unity within the body of the church of Christ. Strength to combat all the evils in this world.

Ephesians 6:10-12, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
