1938 (March) India used in Nepal cover mailed from the British Legation by F.M. Bailey to his parents in Austria (receiving and censor pmks). Bailey was one of the most influential and important 29th century figures involved in the politics of the Himalayas. At this time he was His Majesty's Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Court of Nepal. Some light toning in places.

1949 (December) cover bearing Indian stamps cancelled at the Indian Office in Kathmandu, addressed to F.M. Bailey in England. Bailey was an extremely important official of the British in affairs dealing with Tibet, Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan for some 35 years. He was also considered a spy for the British during part of his tenure. Small tear at top and creases at one end - well away from stamps and cancels.
