Electronic Design Engineer

Job Description:

Will work with Chief Engineer in the development and design of low power digital data acquisition systems for underwater applications with the US Navy and marine seismic exploration markets.

Required Qualifications:

• BSEE or MSEE with better than 3.0 GPA (Note: Electronic Technology Degree (BSET) is not acceptable)
• Minimum of two years experience in digital hardware design and software development
• Digital experience to include FPGA and micro-controller design, product development and software development
• Must be self motivated and work independently with little supervision and guidance
• Able to travel both domestically and internationally, typical travel would be two trips per year of less than two weeks duration
• Able to work on board oceanographic vessels at sea occasionally, typical at-sea travel would be one trip every 2 years of approximately 3 weeks duration
• At sea requirement requires that candidate be physically fit and able to pass medical physical required for at sea work

• Analog Design - low noise signal conditioning design (less than 100 kHz), power amplifier design
• Analog to Digital conversion experience
• PCB layout
• Marine instrumentation experience
