	Please consider these ways to improve education: The Reason Foundation, in a report dated December 12, 2006 found that San Francisco, California education improved with school choice. It is ironic that in the USA we have world class colleges and universities; but our grammar and high school students rank below many other nations. Why the irony? Some advocate that the difference is choice! In selecting a college students can apply to many colleges or universities; on the institution side colleges and universities often choose the students that are acceptable to them. Per the above “Grandfather” article “US Education Productivity” has dropped by 71% in the 34 years between 1960 and 1994. Could it be because we took prayer and Bible reading out of our government schools in June of 1963? With competition, brought about by school choice, schools would likely respond and provide an education that is responsive to the parents. See reports: Seven States  and Sweeden. I personally advocate school choice for grammar and high school students and also that the schools have option to allow students to attend. I would encourage parents to consider home schooling or private schooling. This is a personal opinion; I believe that the federal government should not fund or attempt to control education in any way. I would vote to end the department of education at the federal level. I believe that with better education our people will tend to correct our federal government’s “stray” from the US Constitution.
