Accessories for SyQuest EZ135 external SCSI drive

To use the EZ135 external SCSI drive, you'll need the following accessories if you don't already have them:

a power supply ($3.00 - $7.50 in used condition with purchase of drive)
an external SCSI cable (of the correct type for attachment to your computer's SCSI port, or for daisy-chaining to another device already attached to your computer) or a parallel-port adapter cable
an external SCSI terminator, or a second cable for daisy-chaining another SCSI device to the EZ135
one or more 135 MB hard-disk cartridges

You may also want:

a copy of the Quick Installation Guide ($1.00 with purchase of drive)
a SyQuest carrying case ($12.95 with purchase of drive)

Power supplies

You can choose from the following power supplies for use with standard 120 V AC outlets in the US only. Most of the external EZ135 drives that I've seen came with an APS48ER-110 power supply, but the others listed here are compatible and are actually more robust (according to their current ratings). The APS48ER-110 may not be compatible with 230 MB EZFlyer drives because of its lower current rating. The WAD-0520-A is bulkier than the other models. The model IMP5V2AS1 is the best, because it has an input cable as well as an output cable, meaning that the transformer (the bulky part) doesn't have to be plugged directly into an outlet. SyQuest has also sold compatible power supplies for international use, but I don't have any of those in stock.

Adapters for connecting a 50-pin-Centronics-to-50-pin-Centronics cable to a 50-pin high-density SCSI port are also available. They are unused, and the price is $7.95 each, or $6.50 each if purchased with any of the cables listed above. Photos of these adapters will be posted here soon.

The adapters needed to attach the EZ135 to a PC parallel port or Mac PowerBook (HDI30) SCSI port are not currently in stock, but may be available here soon and can also be obtained from other sellers on eBay or elsewhere.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT attach a SCSI drive directly to a parallel port using an ordinary SCSI cable like the ones listed here. These cables are for attaching two SCSI devices. To attach a SCSI device to a parallel port, you need a suitable parallel-to-SCSI host adapter.

SCSI terminators

The EZ135 external SCSI drive requires attachment of a terminator when the drive is located at the end of a SCSI chain. If the chain doesn't need active termination, the following terminator can be used:

SyQuest has also sold active terminators for use with the EZ135 drive, but I don't have any of those in stock.
