1974 C/B Oldsmobile
Hearse
This 1974 C/B Oldsmobile hearse was owned by the Cook
& Son Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio. We have been
searching for this unusual coach since the funeral home sold
it three years ago. Ironically, it turned up parked next to
Amy's 1975 C/B ambulance. The car had 48,000 original miles
on the odometer when the funeral home parted with it, and
amazingly the gentleman who purchased it put only another
thousand on it.

We were eager to find this car
with its rich local history to add to our growing Oldsmobile
fleet.

The car is only a little worse
for wear from sitting outdoors unattended for three years.
While it now has a little additional rust it still runs and
handles like new. Unfortunately during its time in storage
some raccoons destroyed the front seat.

This Cotner-Bevington funeral
coach was ordered with the special Citation 3/4 vinyl roof
package and an extension table, an unusual feature in a
C/B.

Fortunately the casket
compartment remained varmint free, and as a result the rear
interior is virtually flawless.

The car came with most of its
original documents including the invoice and the handwritten
sales order from Burgess Motor Sales. To view a larger
version of these documents, click on the images

We took photos of each of the
Oldsmobiles with their lights running. Apparently we have
too much time on our hands.
