DEED FOR SIXTEENTH SECTION LANDS

THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME - GREETING:
     Whereas, Under the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, entitled "An Act regulating the sale of the Sixteenth Sections, and to provide for the collection of all claims due the School Fund arising from the sale of the said Sixteenth Sections and for other purposes" approved March 31 1885; and Whereas John Powell has this day filed in this office a certificate of purchase, dated July 5, 1904 and issued to and in favor of John Powell by the collector of Baxter County, together with proof of full payment, in compliance with the terms of the sale as required by the said Act, for the following described lands, to-wit:
     SE1/4 of SW1/4 of Section  16, in Township 21 North of the Base line in Range 11 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, containing 40 acres.
     Now Therefore I, F. E. Conway, Commissioner of the State lands for the State of Arkansas, inconsideration of the premises aforesaid, and in conformity with the said Act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, in such case made and provided, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said John Powell and to his heirs and assigns the above described land.
     To Have and To Hold the same, together with all the rights privileges, immunities and appurtenances of whatever nature thereunto belonging, to the said John Powell and to his heirs and assigns forever.
     In Testimony Whereof, I F. E. Conway, Commissioner of State Lands for the State of Arkansas, have caused these letters to be made patent, and have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal at the City of Little Rock, in the State of Arkansas this 11th day of July, 1904.

Dower and Homestead: Released and Relinquished to have and to hold the same unto said John Powell and unto his heirs and assigns forever with all appurtenances thereunto belonging:

Covenants: Will forever warrent and defend the title to said lands.
