Hiram Danford - April 24, 1884
Last Will and Testiment, Noble Co. Probate Court, Vol. 3, p288, Box
21, Case 550.
In the name of the benevolent Father of all I Hiram Danford of the
County of Noble and State of Ohio do make and publish this my last will
and testiment as follows:
Item 1st
I give and devise to my Beloved wife in him of her dower the sum of
One thousand (1000) dollars. Also that-part-of my kitchen furniture and
household good which she is entitled to under the statute in such case
made and provided.
Item 2nd
I give and devise to my Son William Danford the sum of Eight-hundred
(800) Dollars. I also give and bequeath to my son Jonas Danford a
certain Judgement obtained against him in favor of Peter Danford
in the Court of Common pleas of Noble Co. Ohio October 14" 1878 cauling
for twelve hundred sixty-six Dollars eighty-three cents (1266.83) which
Judgement was assigned to me by said Peter Danford November 15"
1878. I also give and devise to my son Isaac Danford the sum of
One thousand (1000) Dollars. I also give to the Heirs of my son David
Danford (Deceased) the sum of Six hundred (600) Dollars. I also give
and devise to my son Lewis Danford the sum of Six hundred (600)
Dollars. I give to my son Joseph Danford the amount owing to me.
Amounting in the aggregate to about Nine hundred (900) Dollars. I also
give to my Daughter Barthsheba Hyett the amount-owing to me, amounting
to about Nine hundred (900) Dollars. I also give to my son Isaac Danford
in trust the sum of two hundred (200) Dollars. for the use and benefit
of Rachel Ann Selby for him to apply the same to and for her best-interest.
I also give and devise to my son Peter Danford the sum of Twelve
hundred (1200) Dollars.
Item 3rd
I give and devise to my Grand Daughter Samantha Danford and
to my Grand Son John Danford heirs of John Balridge Danford
(Deceased) each the sum of five hundred (500) Dollars.
Item 4th
It is my will and desire that after the legacies above set forth and
all of my first debts and claims are fully settled, if then should be left
any of the proceeds of my real or personal estate that it be diposed of
as follows (to-wit)
That my son William Danford receive on equal interest thereof
also my sons Peter, Isaac, Lewis and Joseph each receive
an equal share. also my daughter Elisabeth Lashley, Barthsheba
Hyett,
Rachel Rosanna Shepard each receive an equal share. Also
the heirs of my son Jonas Danford, Samuel Danford and David
Danford
each receive one equal interest and also the heirs of my Daughter
Nancy
Hathaway (deceased) receive an equal interest. Also that my Grand Daughter
Samantha Danford and my Grand Son John Danford
each receive
one half interest.
Item 5
I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons William and Isaac
Danford Executors of this my Last will and testament. I hereby revoke
all former will by me made. In testimony hereof I have here unto set my
hand and seal this twenty-first-day of April 1884.

Signed and acknowledged by said Hiram Danford as his Last will
and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence.

Whereas I Hiram Danford on the 24" day of April 1884 made my
Last will and testament of that day. do hereby declare the following to
be a codicil to the same.
In items 2nd of said will I devised to my son William Danford the
sum of eight-hundred dollars. I now desire that item 2nd be annulled and
the following substituted (to wit)That the sum of eight hundred dollars
($800) be given in trust to my son Isaac Danford for the use and
benefit of my daughter-in-law Sarah Danford. wife of my son William
Danford said sum to be paid to her in the manner following. Eight and
one third dollars per month. the 1st payment to be made within one year
after my said will is Probated. And in case of the death of my said Son
Isaac Danford before the said sum of $800 is paid to said Sarah
Danford I desire the residue remaining in his hand be paid to Elija
S. Danford son of said Isaac Danford to be by him paid to said
Sarah Danford in the manner above set forth. and in case of the death
of said Sarah Danford before said sum is exhausted I desire the
residue remaining shall be paid to any one or more heirs of my son William
Danford as in the judgement of my said son Isaac Danford or
in case of his death Elijah S. Danford may think best.
In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6" day
June 1887. Signed and acknowledged by said Hiram Danford as his
will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence.
