"Snowflake wheels are not all identical. If you look closely, you'll see the differences. The eight-inch wheel in the center comes with the WS-6 suspension package. The 1977 wheel at the far left contrasts with the 1979 wheel at the right because the 1979 snowflake weighed several pounds less, had a slimmer rim and lighter spokes." - The Fabulous Firebird by Michael Lamm
The above quotation is in error I believe. I thought the wheel in the center was 7" wheel, I'm quite sure it is. Anyone ever seen an 8" wheel like the center picture?
I have a set of 8" wheels like the photo on the right. They are obviously different from the left wheel. Notice the difference in the spacing between the spokes as they come together at the rim. The spokes on the 8" wheel on the left practically touch whereas the 8" wheel on the right has about a 1/2" gap. I am also curious as to the actual weight difference between the differnent wheels.
If anyone has a set of '79 8" wide, natural finish wheels for sale, I would be interested in another set.
