Here are some pictures taken at the WAGGGS-L picnic May 30, 1997. The picnic was held on the lawn near the Washington Monument and was attended by about 30 people. I have tried to identify as many of these people as possible.

Here are our hosts, Don Stark (L) and Rae Haynes.

This is the site for the big event tomorrow. The main stage is on the right.

The kites made a bit of an appearance tonight. There are currently 114 scheduled to fly tomorrow. Don is very pleased at the turnout.

What would a girl scout gathering be without swaps:-) Here are some of the champion swappers who joined us tonight. Rae identified them as (L-R) Heather Hayes, Linda Ricks with Naomi's Blanket of Love, Susan McCollough and Tammie Peterson. Some, like Barb Hunter (R) were still making them as they were at the picnic.

Here are two pictures I left off the original upload of the page. On the left is a group of #wagggschat participants. The right photo shows some of our girls posing with the Sing Along and Girl Scout kites and some of the travelling mascots who made the trip. I hope the mascots enjoyed the Sing Along as much as the people.

One final surprise was this blanket full of patches. This is Naomi's Blanket of Love, the Girl Scout we all joined together to pray for recently. She allowed the blanket to come to Washington for the festivities.
Tomorrow I will be taking similar pictures at the Sing Along. Look back again for those.
