Alter to a Leg of Lamb

Altar To A Leg of Lamb

Marker on 10" x 13" paper. Proposal for SoHo Charcuterie Window Installation.

Proposed piece: Two-sided display with two staircases and leg of lamb at summit of each staircase, tile floor.
This is one of a number of art window displays in store windows in my former neighborhood in SoHo.

                                                                                The Bundle

Gathered bundles of branches in the fall (during change of seasons). Brought them inside to my studio. Articulated                     space using bundles as an element. Considered space around the bundles, the relation between the bundles, the                     individual bundle and the beauty of the individual branches. Room/Studio Installation.

Bundle 7

                                        The Bundle—Phase 5

Pastel on paper, 36" x 42"

After the burning, so that a memory of it's previous existence.

Magnetic Attraction

                                                                                Magnetic Attraction

                    Pastel on velour paper, 16" x 20"

This simile demonstrates that the physical power of magnets is as powerful as the attraction between two people, and                     is obviously a play on words.

MoonDance I

                                        Moondance

Dance and drawing, Pastel on ground. White pastel on iron ground covered paper, 60"x36".

The white Japanese slipper foot prints arch and radiate. The black central resulting form and strong negative                                   spaces make the foot prints so much more weighty in forming the dome gateway.

Moondance II

Moondance, After The Dance

White pastel on iron ground covered paper.

This is not really diagrammatic, but more a record of the dance steps. And I have documented the history of the piece                     as a drawing.

Rockettes Doing a Showcase

                                        Rockettes Doing A Showcase

Watercolor and graphite on tracing paper, 32" x 40".

Conceived and drawn especially for the Counter Show, an invitational thematic exhibition in Toronto.

Wind Chimes

Wind Chimes

                    Watercolor on handmade paper.

Series of proposals for a sedate resort in northern Canada, 38" x 28".

I spent the summer at the Banff Arts Center in Alberta, Canada. Observing the community from the bird’s eye view                     of the art center on the mountain gave me a lofty attitude. I proposed lots of pieces that would be momentous.                     This was the largest and purest wind chime conceived. The kinetic elements were suspended logs, the most                     abundant material. Many pieces in the “tourist land” were conceived in jest.
