I
was raised in a Lutheran home. When I was 18, attending a secular
college, a friend witnessed to me and encouraged me to memorize
scripture. After having memorized about 60 verses, the Lord spoke to my
heart in a Lutheran church service using the verses that I had memorized
and I asked the Lord to forgive my sin and save me. (In spite of where I
was at the time, the Lord saved me, through His Word!) This was in 1976.
Being saved, I soon realized that the Lutheran church did not have the
truth so I started looking for a church that did preach the truth. The
Lord led me to an independent Baptist church. After receiving teaching
in the Baptist church, I knew that the Lord was leading me to do
something in full-time Christian service so I went to Bible College. I
graduated from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO in 1982.
After college, I worked for
4 1/2 years as co-pastor, music, youth, school and etc... at the Bible
Baptist Church, Fulton, MO. During that time we took our first mission
trip and God started speaking to us about the mission field. From there,
we went to the Bearing Precious Seed ministry El Paso/Mexico, taking
groups on mission trips into Mexico. We attended and graduated from
language school in Aguascalientes, Mexico in 1993. We returned to the
ministry in El Paso/Mexico, and also had the opportunity to work with
Missionary Rex Cobb, starting a church in Juarez, at the same time. In
the fall of 1997, we moved into Mexico to start planting churches. We
now have a church started in a town of 20,000 called Anáhuac. They are
in the process of building their church building and are now meeting in
the first phase of it. We are praying for someone to turn the work over
to so that we can start another church somewhere else.
Connie was saved at the age
of 7 and raised in a Christian home. She was a preacher’s daughter for
most of her life and was involved in many areas of ministry. She
attended and graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO in
1980 and has been very active in every aspect of our ministry.
