Fundamental Baptist Church of Bingerville
Clinic Ministry
July 18, 2002
Dear Faithful Friends,
We are very pleased to announce that we will opening a small clinic in our town as a ministry of our church - the Fundamental Baptist Church of
Bingerville. We are greatly in need of your prayers for this endeavor.
History
Several months ago, our mayor specifically asked me if we could open a small clinic in a building which was built for that purpose six years ago
in our town. The building itself has never been used since its construction; consequently it has fallen prey to thieves and decay. I was
extremely hesitant at first to consider this ministry, but the Lord seemed to be opening doors. A medical doctor in our Grand Bassam church came to
evaluate this possibility and told me that we could very easily open a clinic to use as a means of evangelism and growth for our church. He even
stated that he had been praying that the Lord would provide an avenue whereby he could use his medical talent as a ministry.
On July 11, 2002, we signed a five year agreement with the mayor at our city hall for the use of the building. The agreement states clearly that
we get the building for at least five years, and that the agreement is renewable after five
years if we wish to renew it.
Schedule
We will undoubtedly spend all of what is left of the year 2002 in restoring the building to good shape. As well, our doctor will begin putting a
medical team in place.
As we approach January of 2003, we hope to be putting the finishing touches on the building and starting to organize the staff for opening. In March,
we hope to have a grand opening celebration in conjunction with the city hall to announce the opening of the clinic. This will most likely be done
with the city officials and the surrounding village chiefs. Thus we hope to have the clinic open and running by the end of March 2003.
Needs
| 1.) |
The building is in need of many repairs including the electrical
system, plumbing, woodwork, painting, and even some masonry. We hope to also build small rooms for the guardian and attending physician since they
will always be on the grounds. All of this repair and construction could run upwards of $10,000.00 |
| 2.) |
We are in need of the furnishings including movable beds, chairs,
desks, shelving, refrigerators, computers with printers, and air conditioning units. The furniture and air conditioners can easily be
bought here when we have the funds. We would certainly accept used computers and printers to organize the clinic's finances and to keep
patient accounts. |
| 3.) |
We need to open a pharmacy. There are many organizations which sell
medications cheaply to clinics such as ours. We hope to stock a pharmacy at the clinic using these organizations so that we can sell these drugs
more cheaply than the local pharmacies. |
| 4.) |
With time, we hope to acquire the equipment to run some simple blood
and urine tests. |
| 5.) |
With time, we hope to add rooms to the clinic building in order to
hospitalize those who are in need of 24 hour treatment. |
What you can do
| 1.) |
Please pray for the success of this ministry. It is our goal that the
clinic be financially self supporting so that we can use it as a tool of evangelism. We will have Christian evangelistic films shown in our indoor
waiting rooms as well as young men teaching and preaching in the outdoor waiting areas. As well, each person will leave the clinic with printed
information about the Gospel and our church. |
| 2.) |
If you have medical training and you would desire to work with us
treating people at the clinic on a short term or long term basis, feel free
to contact me using my contact information below, and we can pursue that possibility. |
| 3.) |
Should you desire to help with the financial needs for opening the
clinic, please send the contribution to BIMI account #736 and indicate that
the contribution is for the clinic. You will receive a tax receipt from BIMI as well as a letter from me explaining how your contribution was used. |
| 4.) |
Should you desire to donate any computer equipment for the clinic,
contact me using my contact information below so that we can make the necessary arrangements to get that equipment here. |
Thanks so much for your prayers. We look forward to reporting to you how
the Lord is using this medical ministry of our church here in Bingerville to reach our city for Christ.
Most sincerely in Christ, |
